I would argue that the iphone 14 should basically be thought of as the iphone 13 pro S model as it features items compatible with each other, like no dynamic island. Conversely I don't understand the feigned surprise that all iphone 15s will have dynamic island since base model is again basically an iphone 14 pro S model. It's almost like they forget. I'm wondering if they started this because they had overproduced cpus for Mini models and someone suggested they could just use them up with this approach, sort of a built in "gray market " each cycle.
