Good points on the affordability as compared to the value of the new iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra.

What I also have to consider is if by pay just under $119 sales tax, is worth buying from Apple trade, a precarious figure at best, or directly buying from Best Buy (BB) is the best way to proceed.

Usually I head straight to BB in another state and not a carrier in my state, or Apple who both charge sales tax. It's just easier than trying to calculate the Apple setting a trade-in value that is the problem.
