iPhone on straighttalk

I currently use an iPhone 4s on straighttalk. I get terrible coverage in my home, not completely sure why. I’m looking to upgrade to an iPhone 8. Will the new phone use the same towers my current phone uses, and possibly still have terrible coverage at home? Would I be likely to get better reception at home if I switched to an android or to a carrier other than straighttalk? I’m lost?.

Solution
A new phone may help you since it would likely have a better performing antenna, but that is not a guarantee. See what the coverage map shows for your area for what carrier here https://opensignal.com/ Verizon generally has the best overall coverage and signal strength.
