iPhone storage "Documents and data"

I received the message saying my storage was too low so I checked all my used storage on my phone. The biggest thing taking space on my phone was my music library which was only 1.06gb. Figuring something was wrong, I synced my 16gb iPhone 6+ to itunes and it says I have over 8GB in "Documents and data". Now, I've done some googling suggesting that I delete my text messages which only had 500mb worth of storage taken place. Also, it was recommended that I take things off my iCloud storage. Neither of which helped and I'm still stuck with my storage. (I also checked my photo library and only have 250mb worth of photos.)

Actually freed up 3.5 gigs for me.

Or delete apps like Facebook, etc. that cache EVERYTHING.
