Solved! Ir sensor stops when I put the back on my tv

I have a Sony Bravia XBR-65X850E
It got wet and quit working for a day. I took the back off and once it dried off it started working again.
However, once I put the back on the tv, the remote stops working. I took it back off and it works just fine. Testing it out, I had someone hold down a button on the remote and as I got close to the tv, it stopped. The back wasn’t even touching anything, just a few inches away. I thought perhaps the back was blocking the sensor. I removed the screws and lowered the sensor so that it was hanging below the tv, reinstalled the back and it wouldn’t work again. Took the back off, and the remote works. Does anyone have any idea what’s happening?

First guess is something is getting pinched by the cover, check to make sure nothing inside is in the way of the rear panel when it's closed.
