So I'm looking for a new MacBook. I don't know whether I should go with Iris Pro or 750m. At refurb the Iris Pro at $1699 and 256gb SSD and 8gb ram. Then the 750m is at $2199 and double the Iris Pro's ram and SSD at 512 gb SSD and 16gb ram. I'm most going to use iWork, iLife, Photoshop, and a game here and there. Games are stuff like Civilization V, ESO, Minecraft, XCOM, Batman, TF2, Deus Ex and Borderlands 2. I've seen some benchmarks and I the Iris Pro about 5-10 fps behind but at higher resolutions the 750m is about 50% faster. So will the Iris Pro do or is the $200 upgrade worth it.

Solution
When it comes to graphic intensive programs, whether video editing or gaming, a dedicated GPU will always be better. You seem to blow off the 5-10fps part when in actuality, it may be even more than that. Have fun running ESO at low settings with your Iris Pro, if the computer is even powerful enough to run it that is...
If you want any kind of chance at running games, get the dedicated GPU. I have a MBPR with a 650M and was able to run ESO Beta with medium-high settings and Arma 2 on high settings.
The upgrade is worth it.
