My model, K501U does not have any small panels on the underside. It has no panels to remove, such as to replace RAM or hard drive....it is one solid cover. Yes, I could remove the cover and look inside but I was hoping to find out if there even was a replaceable battery first. I think this is a really new model so there isn't much out there on it. I will try to contact ASUS. I appreciate your reply.
Laptop vendors encourage you to buy a new laptop (how else are they gonna stay in business) by not placing an easy access "door" for you to change the battery yourself. So the question really is, are you scared of tiny tools and screws? Actually most major vendor will do it for you... for an additional fee of course.
