Is Intel Centrino core 2 duo processors at 2Ghz outdated ?

Most likely no if it's ddr2. How much does it have now and what do you use it for?

Outdated yes and no, as an office workhorse, adding a little extra memory and say an SSD can serious give it some oomph, gaming, forget it.

It has 4GB and a 120 GB SSD. I just use it for music and pictures and web browsing

You shouldn't be even using all 4gb so more won't do anything. Do you even have a 64bit os? If it is ddr2 then it's a definite no because of the price.

I don't know How much memory should be cached and how much should be free? I'm getting 0 free sometimes.

Don't worry about all that, just look at usage.
