I am trying to recover Vista from my old laptop's 2.5 HDD (HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr), via the Thermaltake BlacX Duet Dual HDD Docking station, with my Win 7 PC. If I am successful in creating boot DVDs then I will install the 2.5 HDD into my old Lian-Li PC6002COM case then install my recovered Vista OS back onto the 2.5 HDD residing in my Lian-Li PC6002COM case (ATX Form Factor. My Windows 7 PC sees both the [HP_RECOVERY (G drive)] and the Local Disk (H drive); I don't see much except a shortcut to my external WD HDD, which was used with each of my computers i.e., HP laptop, Win XP and Win 7 Home. I believe the Local Disk has all the program and system files, but I have been told that the Vista OS has a symbiotic relationship with the laptop's CPU and 2.5 HDD. If I cannot recover Vista, I may either reinstall Windows XP onto the Lian-Li computer, which has a BioStar P4M900-M4 motherboard or considering upgrading MOBO and install my Win 7 Home. I am open to suggestions. Thank you for reading my request and for providing your feedback.
