Is it safe to upgrade the ram in Asus X555la as it has an internal battery that I can't remove?

I have got a ram upgrade but all the guides say to remove the battery before inserting it. The battery of the Asus X555la is internal but there is an access panel for the ram, suggesting that it is safe...is this the case?

Yes, go ahead. The only reason guides say to remove the battery is merely because on some models (evidently not yours) the battery has to be removed to access screws which hold the laptop case together (these models don't have an access panel for the RAM slots, you have to remove the entire underside panel) - - it's got nothing to do with safety.

You've probably been reading generic guides or guides for a different model to yours.
