Hi, I bought a Sony Vaio Laptop in 2012. I used it till 2017 approx 5 years or little more. It was off for few months and when I went to use it I found out that it's not working. Then I found out that my motherboard is damaged. New motherboard cost is 10,000 INR ($144 approx) and my laptop cost was 30,000 INR ($433 approx). What should I do? Is it worth to replace new motherboard or to by new laptop? It is Sony laptop that's why I'm so confused.

Solution
For a 2012 model, no I would not spend almost $150 for a motherboard. I would spend $200-300 and get a fully working newer one. Lenovo T430s for example is a great high end model that is about $250 for a good clean one with a solid state drive and 8gb of RAM.
