My dad needs a new laptop for office programs, SPSS and very light browsing, no gaming at all. His files are less than 10gb total and he doesn't do any heavy tasks, so the storage isn't a problem at all.

I decided to get him this one:-

Seeing that it is one of 3 laptops with SSD currently available nearby and fit within the budget , the other 2 :-

Is the lenovo one good or should he get one of the other 2?
Also, what about the battery life and build quality? I read that it is a cheap plastic but it probably won't bother him much.

Thanks in advance

Out of all three options, I'd personally go with Lenovo as they are known for their good quality products especially for day to day use. Most of my roles in different companies always had a lenovo laptop and I've never had issues with them.

Dell is well - not my first choice and I wouldn't buy a laptop from Samsung just yet.

Hope this helps.
