Is my computer being used??

Hi
As of recently i have had random "User Account Control messages" popping up on my computer screen, it asking for somthing called "setup_B3D3.exe". Any help with this would be appreciated, thanks

Start by running your AV software - do a full scan.

According to your link the file is in a \Temp folder.

Go into the Startup tab via Task Manager to see if you can identify what program is attempting to launch the executable.

Disable the startup. See if the message disappears.

Then, after a few days, if nothing else goes astray - delete the /Temp folder.

You have malware.
Restart in safe mode with networking immediately.
Download and run Kaspersky Virus removal Tool. After it finishes the scan, select delete for all malware it finds.
Restart in normal mode, run Zemana AntiMalware. Delete all malware it finds.

These 2 will be able to delete all the malware. Now get an antivirus such as kaspersky, norton, bitdefender.

This is not how you delete malware.

Agree.

However, I was not so sure that malware was/is necessarily involved. Would expect it to "hide" more versus being visible in a temp folder or elsewhere.

Will be more careful about my wording and not be so generic; i.e., "AV". Thanks.

get ADWCLEANER, reboot in safe mode, run it. clean , reboot...
