Solved! Is poor rear channel separation normal?

Computer to Yamaha RX-V383 via HDMI, poor rear channel separation, why? Front Left, Center, Right and subwoofer all good.

Left surround source sounds just slightly louder on rear left compared to rear right.

Right surround source sounds just slightly louder on rear right compared to rear left On an older system with optical audio , using the same source, rear channel separation was much better

Yamaha is in DSP mode.

Please advise.

check the sound via optical cable again

check the settings of your receiver
