Is sony hcd dx2d compatible with chromecast audio?

If the stereo has an audio input then yes. The manual shows that it may have a TV In, I'm guessing that would be for audio, that should work but you may need an adapter for the inputs.

Chromecast has a 3.5mm so that to whatever the stereo has, probably RCA style.
