Most stage production people have done a load of lighting as well. I did
lighting (along with stage production) for 4 years, what do you want to know?

Try rec.arts.theater.stagecraft for lighting. All aspects of stage
tech work seem to be discussed there.
Alt.stagecraft is not the place, more involved with costuming etc. but
rec.arts.theater.stagecraft should give you what you're after in
lighting discussions. SAme rules apply as any other newsgroup,
plaintext only and observe the interaction between the players for
awhile ti figure out who's full of bs and who has the straight dope
<g>.

I'm in the market for 4 HES Technobeams w/roadcases. I thought I would look in
the newsgroups to see if anyone was selling some. Trying to bypass the broker.

I did a web search and found this, you can try calling some other stage
production companies in and around where you live. Did you try ebay?
