Is there a program to see my emails from desktop?

I'm looking for a Windows 7 program or gadget that's basically like the Mail App on iPhones where I can sync all my emails and be notified instantly and be able to reply to them directly from the desktop. Is there such a program/gadget?

Are you against using mail clients? I have POP3 turned on in my gmail account and just use mozilla's thunderbird for my email. It's quicker than opening a browser, go to the gmail web site, and logging in. I leave thunderbird minimized that way it alerts me to new messages.

I agree with Hawkeye22, I personally don't like any gadgets. I hope u dont have it beloved patriot this...
