hi,is there any way i can take a hard drive out of a laptop that wont boot the files off it and put into a working laptop and get the working laptop to format the hard drive that is broken?can you buy a kit that will let you do this?thanks in advance.

Yes you can.
A 2.5" Hard drive enclosure will do the job. You will need to know if your hard drive is a SATA or IDE drive before you buy.
