Message on Netflix startup says device will not be compatible after dec 1 2019! Sharp Aquos and all Sharp not shown on Netflix website as compatible devices. What is going on? What is the sense of having a Netflix account? Is there a problem or workaround?

Message appearing on sign on to app saying device will not be compatible after Dec 1. Netflix website does not include Sharp in their compatibility list. Is this true? Is there a work around besides using a cell to get Netflix on sharp aquos. Works now and isp says nothing they know about as tv connects to internet just fine. TV shows app and is connecting now but Netflix site says the pop up will continue till dec 1 and then Sharp tv will not connect.

Check with Sharp support, there may be a firmware update to the TVs for the built in apps.

If not, you can use a device like Firestick, Roku, etc... to get the same function but with better support for future updates.
Thanks for response.
I have emailed Sharp but no response as of yet.
Have no idea what Firestick, Roku etc are. Can you explain or give me a link to read up on this. TY

Well Sharp has passed the buck back to Netflix saying they are not providing app update for older models. Sharp advised to get streaming device. They informed you can not even download app after Dec 1 to older TV.
Bottom line. Netflix said service provider issue, service provider said Sharp issue, Sharp says Netflix issue.

Also Sharp advised that this is happening with all other “older” brands of TV’s.
Wonder how many customers they will loose as a result.

From Netflix:
Sad to tell we have sent notifications to all devices affected by the changes that may occur. As technology improves over time, we have also updated our system. Netflix is constantly updating in order for us to provide a better experience to our customers. Ultimately the goal is to provide a service around the world that is more similar than not. Due to the update, there may be devices that will no longer support Netflix as we need to continue to innovate to cope up with the fast changing trend of technologies.

From Netflix:
ou may use streaming media player like Roku, Firestick or Apple TV that you can use to connect on your TV. However, if this won't work, we suggest to use an alternate device to watch Netflix

From Netflix;
Netflix keeps enhancing our services that will benefit both the user and the developer, this will also help us improve our customer service as we will be able to replicate the actual behavior happening in our customer's device with the help of the new developments on the software app version that is only available on the new devices. We will need your kind support on the development that will happen as we need to further advance on the technologies we are using.

Yup. Add Sharp to the list. So is Firestick hard to learn and does it work in Canada

You can find all the info you need for things like Firestick online, Firestick is an Amazon device, should work fine in Canada. Same thing for Roku or any other media player. Everything is a web search away now, don't even need to leave the house to search through an encyclopedia at the library.
