This is my first time building a pc so I need to know if all the parts work good with each other and can play games like dark souls 3, gta5 and more. Will I need a sound card with this or no?

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card

Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black ATX Mid Tower Case

EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

No need for an extra network card, the motherboard has one built-in. For gaming an i7 is too much, if you are planning to overclock, an i5-6600k is fine.

Higher end build with no SSD is not a good idea for speed, you'd want a 256GB or 512 GB SSD for the OS and main programs.

970 is also out-dated now, you'd want a 1060 or a 1070.

EVGA power supply, the supernova range is the one to get from them.

Your ram is good. However, whenever you get a chance, make sure you upgrade that. Congrats on an i7 processor. There is no such thing as 'Too much' anything when it comes to games :) Great build so far :)
