Is this laptop good for games

Solution
Nice, more Dutch laptop gamers :D

The GeForce 940MX is NOT a very low end part, that is the GT920M. the 940MX (midrange) is capable of doing quite nice even in recent games, but you have to turn down resolution or settings (to medium). If you want more info about the performance you can expect, check out notebookcheck: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-940MX.156033.0.html

If you're not in a hurry, you could wait for the new mobile Pascals to arrive in Europe. Both the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming and the Acer VX15 offer GTX1050Tis for under 1k in dollars. The 1050Ti is on par with GTX970M but a lot cheaper so you get a lot more value for your money.
It'll play games with low requirements. League of Legends and Overwatch would work fine.

The GeForce 940MX is very low end and the i5-7200u is meant for low power not performance. Productivity tasks like web surfing, MSOffice, iTunes, &c. While older and non demanding games will work fine. Don't expect it to play games like Battlefield 1or Fallout 4. It may play them but not very well.

For laptops a gaming CPU is the Intel Core i7-6700HQ or better. For video cards it should have a GeForce GTX 970m, 980m, 980, 1060, 1070 or 1080. Anything lower is quite low end.

The bare minimum I would consider as a gaming laptop would be a Core i5-6300HQ and GeForce GTX 960m 4GB. Gaming performance will be passable on modern games at low settings.
