Hi,
I have been facing some throttling issues on my Lenovo Y-700,and does ThrottleStop will fix my problem, and is it safe to use?

Thanks to all in advance!
Best regards!

Solution
I have been using ThrottleStop on my Lenovo Y510P since the day I received it. On this laptop, Lenovo deliberately created a throttling scheme that disabled Intel Turbo Boost as soon as you started gaming which immediately decreased CPU performance by over 30%. Ouch, that hurts and it has proven to be totally unnecessary. This throttling had nothing to do with the computer being too hot or the computer being too dirty inside. Lenovo purposely designed this computer to throttle and they never released a bios update to change or fix this problem. To them it wasn't a problem. It was by design.

The scary warning messages in ThrottleStop are directed at people with Extreme processors that like to overclock their laptops as far as they...

"When using ThrottleStop, it is strongly recommended to monitor power consumption at the wall with a Kill-a-Watt meter or similar device and make sure that you don't exceed the power capabilities of your power adapter. Use of ThrottleStop to bypass these throttling schemes is at your own risk and can result in permanent damage to your power adapter or computer or both which may not be covered by your warranty."

"Using ThrottleStop to overclock or over volt your CPU or to disable a laptop manufacturer's throttling scheme may damage your computer and is at your own risk."

Your laptop is throttling because it is getting too hot.
It is getting too hot because it is dusty inside.

Dear USAFRet,thank yiu for replying to me!
No,my laptop is cleaned from dust!
The dust filter on the air-intake on this laptop makes it overheat, but the techs from the service say that if they remove it the warrant will void!

The scary warning messages in ThrottleStop are directed at people with Extreme processors that like to overclock their laptops as far as they can go. You do not have an Extreme processor in your laptop so overclocking is limited. As long as you use some common sense, your laptop should be fine. There have been hundreds of thousands of downloads and rarely any complaints. I know because I am the guy that wrote ThrottleStop. I have heard from far more happy users that finally have a laptop that is able to run at its Intel rated speed. That is what ThrottleStop is all about.

You didn't mention what your specific problem is. The throttling that Lenovo was using had nothing to do with the computer being too hot or being dirty inside. My laptop throttled on day 1 when it was 100% clean inside. If you need further info, send me an email. The address is in the About... box of ThrottleStop which you can find by right mouse clicking on the system tray icon.
