Issues with laptop, File Explorer crashing when plugging in Samsung S9

Hi there, brand new here on the forum. I have a problem where after I plug in my phone to my laptop, when I try to click on "My S9" or "This PC", my file explorer crashes.

I've been using my phone in the Developer settings and "USB Debugging" so that I am able to use it with my software: Unity 2018.3.4 1f. As far as I'm concerned, the software can't access my phone if it's not connecting to my laptop.

When I turn off my developer settings, my laptop doesn't even detect my phone, the phone would then say that the "connected device is unable to access data...".

I've already looked and downloaded new updates for my drivers, I've contacted Samsung and they are saying it's a computer issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Laptop Model: Asus Strix SCAR II (GL504GS-DS74)

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S9

P.S.: I have also been using the original Samsung cable as well, I've already used my phone on a different computer and it works fine. It is this laptop that I'm running into issues with.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: If there is any more info needed, I would be happy to include it.
