ok so I read many other question on the 700-900 gaming laptop and these are the two im currently having trouble choosing from.

Things it will need to do: photoshop, latest sims games, Diablo 3, possibly other type RPG or MMOPG in the future.

MSI GE60 Apache-629
4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4710HQ (2.5GHz - 3.5GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache)
NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 850M (2.0GB) GDDR3
(from what Iv seen I wish it was the gtx850m GDDR5 but don't see that one for 900 bucks.

I have recommended both laptops to friends - they are both more than capable of running Photoshop. Gaming wise, they will run the games, although you may not be able to run max FPS in the games - if you really want to be the ultimate gamer - a desktop is always going to beat out the laptop....

thanks for the reply! So I shouldn't go wrong with either your saying. laptop ganna be for wife and she wanted a laptop for its mobility over a desktop. neither one of us are really ultimate gamers.

I just not sure to go with the i5 with the better graphics card gtx 860m (the y50) or the i7 with the gtx 850m graphic card. My gut tells me I don't really NEED the i7 and the better graphics card will allow for smoother gaming but I keep going back and forth

The better graphics card will perform the gaming better - and will also give you a performance edge in Photoshop if you are doing 3D modeling and/or advanced filtering. The i-5 will perform pretty close to the i-7 in gaming, but Photoshop will take advantage of the processor - so it may be a trade off for Photoshop.

I have several friends who purchased the Lenovo y50 and are very happy with it.

Ok so I think iv may changed my mind AGAIN aahha the new fangbook III hx6 by cyber power with a 5% off code drops it down to 1k plus it comes with $50 visa card so it makes it 950 bucks.

so for 50 bucks more them my 900 buck limit, I get the I7-4710Mq and the GTX-860M 4GB Plus it comes with an optical drive, which the y50 does not to make it more slim but I rather it just come with an dvd/cd drive.

So unless anybody has an horror stories having to do with cyberpower (which I heard is just MSI laptops) then I may punch the gun before the night is over
