JP Phones in america

Hello people i am asking to see if anyone knows or can fin out for me wether you can use any JAPANESE cell phones in the US if so what are the limitations and what models can you use.
I am however interested in metropcs and boost mobile. I want to know if i can get me a badass japanese cell and if so where do i buy it?

am I to understand that out of all the awesome people here not one knows about japanese phones?
