Jumpy pointing device.

Asus on Win 8. My pointing device/touchpad is very jumpy and selects apps and stuff I do not want, the click seems to double click instead of single as per my setting. The pointer always jumps away from original position after clicking.

Tried cleaning the touch pad very gently? Look in the touchpad settings for sensitivity adjustments

I have checked the sensitivity adjustments quite a few times though there is not make there to adjust. Also as well as the over sensitivity, the other problem is the pointer bouncing away after the click or selection.

If you use an external mouse, do any of the same behaviors happen?
