just bought a dell laptop and my microphone doesnt work

i just bought the dell inspiron laptop and when ever i go to do a video chat the person i am speaking to can hear me, i can only hear them. i dont know what to do, am i missing something, did it brake, is there a microphone at all. please help 🙁

Check the Dell specs (in the manual?). Check sound settings (usually via a little loudspeaker icon on the taskbar -- or in Control Panel). Mic is sometimes turned off by default.
