Kaspersky not Scanning

Kaspersky will not scan when the program is minimized. When i do a scan and hit the minimize icon in the corner it stops scanning till i reopen the program.

Well considering you're not supposed to use your PC for anything else while AV software is doing a full scan, I don't see that as a problem.

Leave Kaspersky window maximised, then just go and watch telly or something for an hour.

Or try different AV software - Comodo is free.
