Hi all

I have this problem on my Dell Latitude E7450 laptop, where the keyboard and touchpad work normally - until I move the laptop!

I can be working on it for hours, no problem. But I then say move the laptop to another table without turning it off, and the keyboard and touchpad will stop working - though Windows is still running fine and hasn't crashed. To get the keyboard/touchpad working again I have to use the power button and do a soft shutdown. On power up again, keyboard/touchpad work fine again.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you may have a loose connection inside, where the keyboard connects to the motherboard.

If the laptop is under warranty, then contact the manufacturer about a repair. If it isn't under warranty, then you can either try and open it up yourself and fix the connection (if it is that), or if you don't feel comfortable doing the work yourself then try a local tech.
