keyboard not working

Hi my keyboard is not working.
It is not sticky keys i have tried that
I have also tried changing language that did not work.
a friend had the problem years ago and i just can't work out what he did. it was some key combination which could disable half of the keys on the board anyone have any idea what I am talking about.

Frustrated to say the least and local technician wants £80 to look at laptop

Hi,

Please do check if sticky key is enabled.
- Go to Control Panel then in Ease of Access Center.
- Click on Make the keyboard easier to use.
- Remove the check on "Turn on Sticky Keys.

If these doesn't work do try these other troubleshooting steps:
- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.
- If all these will not work I would suggest replacing the keyboard itself.
