Labtop to tv with hdmi issue

Have laptop connected to flat screen TV via hdmi. When watching the laptop on TV the screen will randomly go black for a few seconds and then come back on had another laptop connected before the same way before and no issues please help.

Try disconnecting the cord from both ends and then reconnecting them. If it is loose, even a tiny bit, that can cause issues.

If that doesn't fix the issue, you may want to try a different cord. If the problem persists after changing cords, then I would try connecting to a different TV and see if you get the same problem. It is possible the port on the TV is the issue.

Thank you for your response I have tried different hdmi cables and different ports on TV etc. Currently don't another tv to try. It seems worse when using on screen keyboard oddly enough but I never had an issue with previous laptop that was almost 8 years old the reason I switched was weak wireless card in other laptop

You could try updating the drivers to the laptop and see if it resolves the issue.
