laptop always go to sleepmode whenever charger is plugged in

whenever i plug in my charger to my laptop computer it goes sleepmode, what could be the reason for it ? is there any settings that I need to change? i have tried checking the power management however not quite sure what to change/check, help please !!!

Go to power management and find the "Change when my computer sleeps" option.
Change the setting for when your computer is plugged in.
Most likely it is set to turn off after 30 minutes or so.
