laptop audio is low

i have a toshiba satellite C55-A running windows 8 , when ever there is any kind of sound .. music,netflix, videos ... ect the volume is very low even on the max volume , after googling this i found that disabling all audio effects helped a bit but it is still pretty low even with headphones ... any help would be helpful thanks

Try using better headphones. If the audio is still low, check whether you have latest audio drivers installed. Go to the driver interface (e.g. Realtek Sound Manager), and try to boost sound from there. If it all fails, check if the 3.5 mm port is defective.

Do you have loudness equalization enabled? This typically increases the max volume, this can be done in speaker properties.

i have klipschs4i ii headphone .. a very nice and loud pair of headphone that are loud on my iphone and my brother laptop , the speakers are also low and sound flat

and i have the equalization enabled but they are till low and sound flat/muffled
