Hey guys,

So the backlight in my Toshiba Satellite went out a few weeks ago so I ordered a new Inverter board and ccfl backlight. I have fixed this problem before on my old laptops no problem, but for some reason this toshiba is giving me a hard time.

I replaced the inverter board and tested the laptop with no success.

I then went ahead and took apart the LCD assembly and replaced the CCFL light.

Now, when I power up the laptop the ccfl will turn on for half a second but then turns off. If I wait a while, the light will light up again around the time windows boots up. After that, it never lights up again.

Im stumped, anyone have any suggestions?

It it works until Windows cuts in, perhaps your laptop is one with a brightness control on one of the Function buttons. Beyond that, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.

Does your new inverter have exactly the same part number as the old? If you put the old one back in, does it produce the same result when working with the new backlight?
