Laptop battery incompatible

I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 and recently when I turn it on the BIOS gives me a notice saying "The primary battery pack is not identifiable and this system will not charge this battery pack. Using an incompatible battery or third party battery increases the risk of fire or explosion" I took the battery out and plugged it back in firmly and it says the same thing every time. My laptop has to be plugged in in order to be used. Any suggestions?

The firmware on the battery itself has become corrupted or the battery has reached it's end of life are the most likely explanations. Normal thing to do is replace the battery.

Did you buy a cheap third-party battery for it instead of buying a genuine replacement from Dell?

I have not touched the battery ever, its the one it came with when I bought the laptop from Dell only 5 months ago.

then it's in need or warranty replacement from Dell, get in touch, give them the symptoms, they will replace it.

Oddly enough, I have the same model laptop (purchased last April) and I am receiving the same error. After a lot of digging around I found another complaint where the person determined that the motherboard was the problem, not the battery. I personally hope this is the case as the battery is no longer under warranty for my system.
