Laptop black screen

I have a dell latitude d620 laptop. I was letting it upgrade while using poor wifi connection. Got bored with waiting & shut it off. Turned it on to see it restarting itself. I switched the ram out for the new 1 I got and it only shows a black screen. Switched back to the old ram and it's doing the same thing. What do I do now?

Hi,

First, do a hard reset by removing the battery, AC adapter and the RAM then press and hold the power button for around 20 secs. Put everything back together then turn it on and see if it does the same thing. Next step you should try if the same problem persist is to remove the HDD and see if the laptop stays on in a black screen with some error message without it rebooting. If it stays on, turn it off and put the HDD back in. Lastly, perform a factory reset using a disc since the operating system might had been damaged after the PC was restart while the upgrade was working.

Might have to clean it with a disc. Is there a website that I can go to that'll copy the cleanup onto a disc?
