Laptop Bluescreen, help

Ok, so I have a Asus F8S and its been bluescreening, i know why its doing it, its an hard drive issue. Basicly, when ever i boot it up i get the windows welcome screen or whatever it is, and then it blue screens. So i was wondering, am i able to connect a desktop, or a alternate hard drive to my laptop to act as my main hard drive?

Id assume even if it is possible, the laptop would suffer from performance issues due to the hard drive sucking all the power
