Laptop boots sometimes and sometimes didn't boot at all please help

So I have a lenovo y510p and when I turn it on I can see some of the lights turn on and the hdd attempting to read something but the display does not turn on. although I repeatedly have to try and eventually it will turn on 1-10 times usually my laptop hasn't turned on right now for like 20 attempts also I did abiod update and it worked like a charm for a week (re installed windows 8 as laptop could not boot please help me)

Your mobo (motherboard, its what has the BIOS on it) is dying/dead. Replace it. Back up the data off the HDD as well (take it out and put in another computer)

I am using a laptop so I am comfortable with opening but I would like to see other solutions first as I have not ever opened my laptop

Are you sure abios update won't fix it?
