Hello! This is the situation:

-Laptop fell on the floor. When booting black screen but with some effort I can see the desktop. Works fine when connected to external screen via hdmi.

-Went to a pc tech, he claims that inverter works fine (he tested it on another laptop)

-Ordered cffl backlight bulb. Original screen is 15,6 LP156WH1 (TL) (C1). Received broken screen from seller who claimed the bulb was ok. It was slightly different, (TL) (A1) instead of (TL) (C1).

-Did the installation today. Previous bulb was broken on one corner. The new one seemed ok, but no light came out of it when I booted the laptop.

-Tested again on external monitor with hdmi and works fine.

So what do you believe? I assumed that it might be the difference of the part number or the bulb I received was already faulty, so I ordered another broken screen (with a working bulb i hope...).

I would like to hear from you what else might have gone wrong

update: Seems like a difficult situation, so I am going to give some more info.

When the CCFL bulb cable is connected to the inverter, there is a hissing sound (like a snake or a tire that loses air) for about 1 second, coming from somewhere around the converter (not sure). If the cable is not connected, there is no such sound. As usual, no light from the bulb.

I am afraid that there might be no power going to the inverter from the laptop-but I haven't found another similar case. I hope it is just another faulty bulb - but the seller told me it was tested OK.

In two days I will receive another bulb (from a screen with the correct specifications this time). If there is someone who has come across the same type of problem and solved it, please let me know.

Solution
The problem has been solved.

I purchased a faulty screen with the same part number and replaced the back panel of my screen (the white one that contains some plastic semi-transparent sheets)-which includes the broken CCFL light bulb- with the one from the faulty screen.

The reason I did that is because it is very difficult to remove the light bulb, or even the metal case which includes the light bulb, from the back panel of the screen. The bulb breaks accidentally very easily, which is what happened the second time I attempted to do that.

So my advice, in case your CCFL light bulb is broken and you don't want to spend a fortune on a new CCFL screen (which is very expensive because they are not produced anymore) or a new compatible...

Hi!

Unfortunately this is in the US and I am in Europe, so I would pay too much in shipping. What's more, removing the bulb without breaking it is already very difficult. In fact, I am doing the same thing by purchasing broken screens and removing the part which contains the CCFL bulb.

About the inverter, I am not 100% sure but, as I said, the pc technician I gave it to claimed that it works fine.

Unfortunately I don't have any other laptops to test them.

Another possibility is that there is no power going to the inverter, but I am not sure about it.

This way you make your life easier and save a lot of money.

Thanks everyone who read my topic and tried to help me!
