I have HP 4530.Recently it is giving me problems in charging. Whenever i plug the AC charger, the white light, which indicates charge, just blinks for 4-5 times and nothing happens. The laptop doesn't recognize the AC adapter at all.Sometimes i have to leave laptop for 8-9 hours and then it starts to charge. But now it is not charging at all.
I have done the 40 second power discharge process.I have taken out battery and unplugged AC adapter, then pressed power button for 40 second. But it doesn't help.
I ask my friend to charge my battery and after putting the charged battery, system starts to run.But it doesn't charge the battery with AC adapter.I've tried with different AC adapters and still problem is same. White light blinks for 4-5 times and nothing.
I have taken out batteries and gave laptop a rest as maybe overheating is problem, but after overnight rest of about 10 hours, still not charging.
Can someone help me with this. How to solve this charging problem

being the battery does get charged on your friend's laptop & your laptop does post with your power adapter then the charging circuit in the laptop is dead. might be fixable if there is a blown fuse in that circuit but laptop will have to be taken apart to find out.

Well if you're using the correct battery and charger that came with the laptop? It's more than likely charging circuit. If you get it to boot again you could try the link.
Thing is lot of devices and laptops have intelligent batteries they have to be genuine parts by the company they have chips in the circuits to check this.
If you run the battery test in link it would give you a clue.i.e unknown or no battery would more than likely mean dead internal circuit? The fact it won't power up with just a lead means power board problem to me.
