Hello,

I am looking to buy a notebook laptop. I am looking for something in $450-$600 range. I would prefer it be 11-14in, have 500GB HD, 4GB RAM, and a webcam. I will not be doing any gaming on this laptop. Mostly writing papers, surfin the net, and some statistical analysis using SPSS or SAS. There are two computers I am currently looking at. Which do people think is better? Does anyone have a different recommendation?

MSI X Series X370-205US vs. Samsung Series 3 NP350U2A-W01UB

Open to suggestions.

Thanks,

That's a tough choice. On one hand, you have the E-450 which has awesome batter life and decent graphics capability but a snail's-pace CPU designed to compete with Intel's Atom. On the other hand you have a computer with a powerful and fast i5 CPU that's handicapped by Intel graphics. It's a bit of a shame too because at 15", prices drop dramatically and you can get a much better deal like this:

If graphics really aren't what you want or care about, then there's no question that the Samsung is the way to go.
