Question Laptop connected to external display just quit

So i have a sony vaio im fixing for a friend, the lcd needs replaced. i hooked it up to an external display because i was going to go in and clean it out for her and she forget all her passwords and such anyway, shes about 80, i had it hooked up to a monitor and i was resetting the password from a USB flashdrive, and then after i plugged in the laptop to the charger, i walked away for a few, came back, and now i can't get it to display on the external again. i just ordered the replacement lcd and i'd like to have it all done by then. any ideas? vaio vpccw21fx. wont load on vga or hdmi. tried new monitor, cables, etc.

this is really embarassing actually, i graduated with a degree in technology, but that was over a decade ago, and i haven't been using a computerfor most of those years. i was all braggy braggerson about my skills, all, "i speak python, c++, java html, blahblabballahhrbbrbbrers." and now i be lookin like a chumpy dummy. loool
