Solved! Laptop cooling

I've noticed that most of the newer laptops come with only 1 fan, usually situated on the left-hand side where gamers spend a lot of time. Any idea why they do this?

It's a design choice by the manufacturers and I think it takes into account the layout of the hardware on the mobo. Fewer modifications of the reference design means lower manufacturing costs and more profits. That's my take on it.
