Long story short: I pulled dc jack off of the 4 pins on motherboard (Toshiba sat5ellite) . Reconnected it and... nothing,no power light, completly dead! Checked wires from pins to wall plug and all is good so any ideas? Could I run power to battery connections maybe? (The battery has been out of laptop for months and is dead so I do not know if laptop runs off battery anyhow). Thanks.

What was your original reason for pulling it off? Do you have experience soldering and repairing DC Jacks? These types of repairs are to be done by professionals. You'll need to provide more information about the type of repair you did, so that we might be able to diagnose where in the line the problem is.

If you removed the DC Jack, did you replace it with a verified working one? It is quite easy to short those jacks out, so the new one could have a short in it, or the motherboard could have been shorted during the course of repair.

More info and we can try and get things going for you.
