Laptop Dual channel Ram Mixing

Hey guys, I just bought the Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-53VG laptop with dedicated graphics and it has DDR4 8gb 2133 MHz / PC4-17000 Ram installed with and extra slot in the same channel. I purchased from crucial a compatible 4GB DDR4 2400 MHz / PC4-192000. I did not realize I had to match the Ram in other ways once it was marked compatible.

Will this function normally, or should I return the Ram for the correct 2133 MHz / PC4-17000.
I do not yet know the Motherboard type.

When mixing RAM with different speeds, the faster RAM should default to running at the same speed as the slower RAM.
