Hi,

New laptop, and I think there's something wrong with the fan.

When the laptop is cold, and the fan is working in a normal state, very silent, there's an additional noise of the fan. The noise is exactly as if the fan is working, you can hear 100% it's the fan.

Is that normal? Should I do something about it myself or should I return it to manufacturer? Custom built, from PCSpecialist.

This is normal... the fan usually spins at 10-20% even when nothing is stressing it (to get air flowing inside the heatpipes)

The funny thing is that the laptop fan spinning at 100% is louder than a desktop 200mm fan spinning at full speed...

Uh... then there's probably something loose in the fan... call your laptop vendor (and don't open the laptop)...

some vendors are anal about you opening the laptop (other than the ram slot cover) that they put special adhesive on the screws to see if you broke the adhesive or not :/
