Hi all. I'm getting into animation on the prosumer level and already have a desktop system that I'm comfortable with (which I built based on advice gotten here). I'm looking for a laptop to do work on when not at home, or even when at home but not locked away in my little room. It should be capable of real-time content creation and editing, but the rendering part can be done on my desktop. I have a Quadro FX1800 card on my desktop and I'm assuming that would render faster than the notebooks I can afford? Am I correct that for animation I would do better with a quad core i7-740QM @ 1.73GHz which can boost up to 2.93GHz than a dual core i5-460M @ 2.53GHz? Should I have more than 4GB ram? Thinking of either an ASUS G53JW with a Nvidia 460M or MSI GX660R with an ATI HD5870, but would certainly consider other suggestions. Sorry for so many questions but I thought I'd take advantage of some expert advice. Thanks, Don
