Laptop for College Student

I am a college student looking for a laptop that will last me more than 2 years. One that has a decent screen size, with a decent screen resolution.


1. $500 budget

2. >15" screen

3. The best resolution possible for my price

4. Portable laptop

5. ~4hours

6. Will do light gaming, not a major factor

7. Taking notes, writing emails, general web surf

8. 300-500GB of memory

9. No specific sites

10. Hoping it will last at least 2 years hopefully 4

11. DVD ROM.

12. No specific brand of interest

14. Will be carrying around campus. Im looking for a laptop that has a nice screen+screen resolution.

This fits everything you are looking for with the exception of maybe the screen resolution. The resolution is good but not full high def.
