Laptop for high-end video editing ($3000 budget)

Hi to all,

I'm a Freelance Film Editor, I use Avid Media Composer V8,5 for editing.
I am currently looking to buy a new reliable, fast and responsive Laptop for my work. Editing is my life, and my means of income, so I would like to make sure that I make the best possible decisions with the mentioned budget ($3000).

I'm open to all suggestions, and opinions.
Please do not hesitate to ask if more information is required.

The only thing that you might like is a bigger screen but other then that those are all great laptops for editing. No gaming though

Why a laptop? Do you do your work onsite or only in your office? For that much you can get a very good desktop and a mid-range laptop both.

Those all have a low voltage i7.

Wouldn't something with a regular voltage i7 make more sense?

Also, the display resolution on those is pretty poor. I'd want full HD for any laptop. But maybe that's just me.

I want a laptop so I can start working from home, and away from the office. I do have a desktop that I'm more than happy with, but have now started working out of the office more often. Thank you all for the suggestions.

As I know, MSI has the workstation for engineering, modeling and editing use. It is quite powerful on every media, photo and any other editing.
For your budget, wanna try WT72 should be good enough for you; besides, the most important is that it is thin and portable!
