Laptop for Mech Engineer student

Hey guys, I need to buy myself a laptop for college, and I'm hoping to keep it in the $350-500 range. I will not need anything particularly powerful, just for taking notes and watching films (let's be honest here). I will have a desktop coming with me that I will build myself in august, so I don't need anything with a built in graphics card or anything extravagant. I prefer matte plastic finish or metal of some sort. I am not interested in anything HP has to offer, I want my computer to last me for 4 years of relatively non-demanding use, and HP seems to always have a CPU heat management issue cause they put in baby ass ventilation systems.

This computer isn't available in the U.S, and on top of that it is already 2 years old. Please give me a real recommendation.

It is the most powerful laptop in your budget and I think it will be perfect for your college works as well.
